AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands, Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- ING Group today reported continued strong growth in net profit of 24.1 percent to US $1,398 million for the first nine months of 1996 compared with the same period in 1995. Substantial profits from both insurance and banking operations contributed to the increase for the Amsterdam-based international diversified financial services company.

Result before taxes for the combined insurance and banking operations, after deducting dividend on own shares, rose 21.0 percent to US $1,966 million.
