THE father of the first British female soldier killed in Afghanistan laid a wreath in her honour at a Remembrance Sunday ceremony - but continued to criticise Army policy.
Burscough-born Corporal Sarah Bryant, 26, was killed on duty in June in a large roadside explosion near Lashkar Gah, in the south of the country.
Her father, Des, joined dignitaries in Carlisle for a parade, service and wreath-laying ceremony.
He said the decision to deploy her in a Snatch Land Rover was "absolutely outrageous".
The vehicle his daughter was travelling in was no more than a "tent on wheels", he said.
