The Brigantine Family of Restaurants is on a roll. Pun intended. It opened its second Zocalo Restaurant in the 4S Ranch community, near Rancho Bernardo, Sept. 29 and plans to transform Azul La Jolla from one that serves mixed fare, including seafood, into a steakhouse.

Located in 7,000 square feet of space in the 4S Commons Town Center at the corner of Rancho Bernardo and Dove roads, the new eatery offers what the company calls Nuevo Latino cuisine. It has a lounge that sports a U-shaped bar, and a 9-foot-high glass wine cabinet divides the main dining room from the kitchen, which features a wood-fired oven.
