As the clock ticks down to this evening's Steel and Sons Cup semi-final between Ards and Larne, it may be noted that even Bill Shankly sometimes got it wrong.
The time-honoured comment the great Liverpool boss made during an interview in the early Eighties, about football being more important than life and death, may well ring hollow for Ards manager Tommy Kincaid, whose wife Kate passed away unexpectedly at the end of last month.
