Did you know that Austrian dairy farmers know all their cows by name? This is because they have one of the lowest number of cattle on their farms in Europe. In fact, the average number is just 10 cows per farm (this compares with 78 in the UK). According to Dr Daniela Andratsch, from the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, this is just one of many examples of how the Austrian food and drinks industry focuses on quality and tradition.
