Eli Lilly and Company agreed Tuesday to pay $62 million to settle lawsuits involved its marketing of the anti-psychotic drug Zyprexa, the company and various attorneys general said.
Wisconsin, one of the 32 states plus the District of Columbia, to file suit over the marketing and promotions of the drug expects to receive $1.5 million from the settlement, said Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen.
The settlement is the largest ever multistate settlement for a consumer protection-based legal action, edging out the $58 million Merck agreed to pay in lawsuits over its product Vioxx.
