WHEN South Coast Tourism officials and Wozani Africa Events decided to have a crack at the Guinness Book of World Records, their aim was to put their region well and truly on the map.

And now that they have made it into the famous book with the record for preparing the most seafood at an outdoor event on July 19 at Silver Beach, Port Edward, they are "ecstatic", said Michael Bertram, the chief executive officer of South Coast Tourism.

"We are very proud and humbled," he said.
