A senior police superintendent tearfully told the Cape High Court today that the 21-month-old baby daughter of murder accused Marius van der Westhuizen was still making sounds moments after he shot her in the head.
And while police at the crime scene ran around frantically to find medical help, Van der Westhuizen, a police superintendent, had contacted a senior official to say he had shot his children and that they should take care of his wife, policewoman Denise Brand told the court today.
Van der Westhuizen is accused of the July 2006 murder of his three children.
