Western Branch outgained Bethel in total yards 244-219, but committed six turnovers - including four lost fumbles - en route to a 21-7 loss Friday.
"It just wasn't meant to be. It wasn't our night," Western Branch coach Scott Johnson said. "But I'm very, very proud of this football team. They fought for the whole 48 minutes. And for everything this team's gone through, 8-3 is a good season."
Western Branch's first fumble led to Bethel's first score. Sam Turner recovered Cam Parson's miscue on the Western Branch 18. On the next play, Ray Bradley scampered in to give Bethel a 7-0 lead.
