NEW YORK -- The contribution of private label products to drug chains' absorbent hygiene category sales is clear from the latest Information Resources Inc. (IRI) market data.
If they were considered a brand, private label products would be among the top three sellers in the adult incontinence, diapers and training pants segments, according to IRI figures for the year ended October 5.
Private label products are especially desirable because items in the adult incontinence and baby diapers segments take up so much space, limiting the return on investment. It's much easier to generate a high margin with a store brand than on a nationally branded package of ...
