NEW YORK -- In 2000 there were 4.2 million people age 85 and older in the United States. By 2030 that figure will more than double to 9.6 million, driven by the large numbers of aging baby boomers and the fact that people are living longer because of better nutrition and health care.

That trend promises a bright future for a category that does not get a lot of attention: adult incontinence products. According to projections by INDA, the trade group that represents the nonwoven fabrics industry, the category should experience growth of 5% to 6% per year until 2011.
