COLUMN: FANTASY SPORTS
With the brackets for the Central Mass. Tournament being filled out in many sports, along with impending Thanksgiving Day football and Super Bowls, it seems a fitting time to revisit the idea of high school fantasy sports.
Especially since no one else seems prepared to do it.
Two years ago, the Pioneer Press of St. Paul, Minn., created a national fervor by starting a high school fantasy league on its pages. The endeavor didn't last an entire season, as concerns about gambling and the promotion of individualism over a team concept brought enough public pressure to shut it down.
