CLEARWATER, Fla., Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Eckerd Corporation (NYSE: ECK) today reported increased earnings and sales in the third quarter ended November 2, 1996.
For the third quarter, earnings before extraordinary items increased 95.1 percent to $10.9 million or $.15 per share in 1996 from $5.6 million or $.08 per share in 1995. For the nine month period, earnings before extraordinary items increased 38.5 percent to $66.8 million or $.93 per share in 1996 from $48.2 million or $.71 per share in 1995.
