Rarely does a small state like Mississippi have the opportunity to elect one of its own to the White House--Arkansas got to with Bill Clinton during the 90's--but John McCain comes close. His family connections to Mississippi are significant, and we even have a Camp McCain in Carroll County, named after Major General Henry P. McCain, a relative of the senator.
