Nov. 16--Being the mother of a fragile infant who spent the first 61 days of his life in the neonatal intensive care unit, Lisa Bunch learned first-hand the value of community programs for disabled children and their families. In fact, that experience ignited her desire to start the Friends of Gateway Foundation in 2001. The organization provides financial support and volunteers for Gateway Education Center and for children with disabilities.
