Conventional wisdom holds that the most effective way to attack a zone defense is with ball movement and player movement. The challenge is to do both within the same offense.
At Rampart, we use ball movement to initiate the player movement and generate the consequent team dynamics. Operating from the 1-3-1 shown in the diagrams, we create a set of simple rules for each player.
Each time the ball is moved within the offense, we expect all five players to adjust their positions to the specific movement.
