First Student school bus drivers and aides in Irvine, California who are seeking improvements to wages, health care and treatment on the job, have united by joining the Teamsters Union. By more than a 4-to-1 margin, the workers voted to become members of Teamsters Local 952 in Orange (see also International Brotherhood of Teamsters).
"I'm very happy to be a Teamster now," said Eva Sosa, a five-year driver with First Student in Irvine. "We need wage increases and better insurance. As Teamsters, I know we can solve a lot of the concerns we have at work."
