BEIJING -- Sun Microsystems (NASDAQ:JAVA) today announced the donation of its Sun(TM) Modular Datacenter (Sun MD) to the China National Disaster Reduction Center (CNDRC) in an effort to help the Chinese government build a world-class satellite disaster reduction application system. Under the direction of the China Ministry of Civil Affairs, the CNDRC is tasked with improving national comprehensive disaster reduction work through its collection and analysis of disaster information, timely on-site support, and disaster analysis and scientific research.
