WISCO inks agreement to tap iron ore deposit in Madagascar
Shanghai. November 18. INTERFAX-CHINA - Wuhan Iron and Steel (Group) Corp. (WISCO), a major steel mill in central China's Hubei Province, has concluded an agreement to develop an iron ore deposit in Madagascar, a company official told Interfax on Nov. 17.
"WISCO and a joint venture partner have completed a feasibility study on the project. The development of the mine will commence in 2009, before which, some infrastructure construction is needed," Bai Fang, an official with WISCO's press department, said.
