George Seldes belongs to the pantheon of American Heroes. Seldes unmatched contribution to American journalism and thereby to American democracy is not well-known to the public at large and barely to journalists. He died at the age of 104 in 1994 and writing up to the very end.
Readers of SJR were first informed about Seldes in the early 1980s and in a number of articles since then. But nothing we have published measures up to the lifetime of adventures and battles for social justice that are beautifully presented in a recently released feature-length documentary by Rick Goldsmith. Goldsmith produced, directed and edited the film.
