For the last four years, Eugene artist Margaret Coe has been traveling each summer to France, where she spends several weeks making paintings of the rural landscape.
A show of her most recent French paintings, now up at the Karin Clarke Gallery downtown, demonstrates that Coe has truly found her mtier.
The paintings, which include medium- and large-size oils and acrylics on canvas, are the most sophisticated, engaging and ultimately satisfying art I've seen in years of following her work.
