The European Commission's second strategic energy review provides a glimpse of what novelties officials may actually propose when renewing the energy policy for Europe in 2010. The aim is to chart a policy agenda for 2030 and state a vision for 2050. Mindful of accusations of operating in the dark, the review already notes that long-term objectives must result from wide consultation. Experts, then, can already start jostling to join the group to help the Commission prepare a road map towards a 2050 energy policy.
