On-again off-again plans for a 500-space parking garage at the Great Lakes Science Center are on again with the Ohio Department of Transportation committing to finance the project.
Gary Joseph, deputy director of ODOT's economic development section, said the department will loan the Science Center $7.8 million from the state's infrastructure loan bank to build the two-level underground garage, which would connect to the Science Center.
Science Center director Richard Coyne said he is preparing term sheets for such a loan, and that revenues from the garage would be used to pay back the state. The amount of time the center will have to pay back the loan ...
