It's been around for months, but The Comcast Network - which serves 1.2 million Comcast Cable Communications subscribers in New Jersey and Philadelphia - has not heavily promoted itself.
The service debuted with a soft launch in July, and it officially began on Sept. 3. The 24-hour network - the brainchild of Michael Doyle, senior vice president of Comcast's Northeast region - wasn't designed to make a big profit, but rather to provide viewers With exclusive local programming and to establish Comcast's identity in the region.
"It's our signature channel for our customers," said Doyle. "It shows them the personality of our company."
