"How beautiful Christmas Eve is," said Maria, her eyes shining with happiness.
Maria loved Christmas Eve. She loved the freshly cut fir tree that filled the room with its faint fragrance. She loved the bright decorations that hung from its outstretched branches. Her favorite decoration was the beautiful angel that smiled down at her from the very top. She loved the colorfully wrapped packages that lay scattered under the tree waiting to be opened.
