DUBLIN, Ohio -- Frigidaire Co. here will merge Jan. 1 with two other AB Electrolux businesses, Poulan/ Weed Eater and American Yard Products, with the focus on combining internal functions. No major changes are planned in sales and marketing.
Robert Cook, president and chief executive of American Yard Products, and one-time head of Roper Corp., will become president of the new combined entity. Hans Beckman, Frigidaire's president, will return to Electrolux headquarters in Stockholm as executive vice president for industrial integration to direct the corporate search for further efficiencies.
