Two Firms Top Life Insurers in Arkansas; Blue Cross Still Largest Health Insurer
The Hartford Life Insurance Co., a subsidiary of ITT Hartford Group of Connecticut, has captured the top spot on Arkansas Business' annual list of the largest life insurance underwriters in the state, a feat it accomplished in less than three years.
According to figures from the Arkansas Insurance Department, Hartford Life collected $74 million in life insurance premiums in 1995. In total, the company has more than $2.25 billion worth of life insurance in the state.
