COLUMN: SOUTH COUNTY NOTEBOOK
You've probably seen them sitting in front of Bill and Barbara Ela's home at 278 Bryn Mawr Ave. in Auburn, along the shore of Dark Brook Reservoir, where it looked like a thin sheen of ice was starting to form yesterday morning.
For years your loyal scribe has driven by the house that has a large steel red ball on the left side of the front yard and a large green steel ball on the right side of the lawn, both chained to a nearby tree. Curiosity took over and a telephone call was made.
