Band sawing is increasing in importance as a value-added process in metal service centers because end-users who previously purchased raw lengths now demand timely delivery of precision cut parts. This change requires band saw manufacturers to focus more keenly on the core values that service centers expect from new machines: low cost of ownership, simplified operation and maintenance, and enhanced safety--all of which lead to higher productivity at a lower cost per cut.
