Nov. 22--SHENANDOAH -- An old tradition will be reintroduced when Santa drops into Shenandoah next weekend to kick off the holiday season.
Santa and an elf will parachute onto the Shenandoah Valley football field at noon Nov. 28. The Santa Drop was brought back last year after an almost 20-year hiatus. The tradition came to a halt in the late 1980s after an elf went off course, landing on a spectator.
