A GRIEVING mother has attacked the NHS after her baby died despite being seen by doctors three times during the previous week.

Sandie Thompson sought medical advice repeatedly over a period of five days because nine-month-old Rebecca was sick and short of breath.

The infant was twice taken to hospital but on both occasions she was sent home.

The day before she died, she was seen by the family's GP.

But on Wednesday, Rebecca took a turn for the worse and was taken to hospital after Miss Thompson dialled 999. Paramedics and medics fought for hours to save her, but it was too late.
