SPRINGFIELD - A nonprofit group that hopes to bring a conference center to a spot now occupied by the Patrician mobile home park says it has suffered a setback in its pursuit.
The group, the Springfield Conference Center Consortium, commissioned a California consulting firm to produce a study on market demand for a conference center. But the consultants produced by mistake a study on whether to put a hotel on the site, the nonprofit group says.
