ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. -- Under its Goldstar brand, LG Electronics U.S.A. will offer two 16X-speed CD-ROM drives, one this month. It will be one of the first manufacturers to offer the se products although it only entered the computer retail category with CD-ROM drives and monitors last May.
The company's Information Systems Products division is offering two Goldstar 16Xmax CD-ROM drives, a tray-based model CRD-8160B and a slot-loading model CRD-8161B, both of which transfer data at 2.4Mbytes per second at maximum speed, according to the company. The data transfer rate at maximum speed is advertised as twice that of the standard 8X CD-ROM drives found on today's PCs. ...
