Midway through the second quarter, Tevin Cheever walked to the Marist sideline, removed his helmet and revealed a head of dry, sweat-free hair.
It was that kind of night for the Spartans' quarterback.
Rarely touched, never hurried and almost always on target, Cheever led No. 3 Marist to a surprisingly easy 55-7 victory over Siuslaw at Willamette High School in a second-round game of the Class 4A football playoffs.
Cheever completed 13-of-17 passes for 222 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for a score for the defending state champions.
