CHICAGO, Jan. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- ABN AMRO North America Inc., a subsidiary of ABN AMRO Bank N.V. of the Netherlands, and ChiCorp, Inc., parent company of The Chicago Corporation, have signed the closing agreement for ChiCorp to be acquired by ABN AMRO.
The acquisition provides for a merger between The Chicago Corporation and ABN AMRO Securities (USA) Inc. to create ABN AMRO Chicago Corporation. The value of the transaction was not disclosed. The acquisition received approval from the Federal Reserve Board on Dec. 11, 1996.
