On June 2, 2008 the EPA released a "technical amendment" to their Energy Star solid state lighting criteria and declared it effective immediately, without consulting industry. Further, their amendment gives credence to certain older technologies provided they're equipped with motion sensors. Along with, my Efficiency Zone coverage and September's Editor's View, this month's Brainstorm expands the debate.
