AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Jan. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Trailer Boats magazine named Jeep(R) Grand Cherokee "1997 Tow Vehicle of the Year" for the second consecutive year, an unprecedented occurrence in the 15-year history of the competition.
Trailer Boats nominates four to six vehicles in a specific class for its annual towing competition. Vehicles with similar tow ratings are given a trailer/boat combination and tested in 10 towing categories and five non- towing categories. The towing portion of the test included tongue weight, visibility, flatland towing, mountain towing, engine performance, transmission, launch ramp, fuel economy, ride/control and braking. ...
