Watchdog monitoring psychiatric units over care fears
Two psychiatric units at the centre of an inquiry into the care of patients are being monitored closely by the State watchdog.
The Mental Health Commission, which instigated the inquiry, issued a statement after it was reported concerns were raised about injuries, including one fracture, diagnosed in patients at St Michael's unit in South Tipperary General Hospital and St Luke's Hospital, Clonmel, Co Tipperary between July 2002 and January 2004.
