Former Orange County treasurer Robert L. Citron is expected to report to jail next Friday, following a judge's decision last month to deny his request to participate in the county's house arrest program.

Citron, 72, has been convicted of criminal fraud and misappropriation for his actions in the months leading up to the county's 1994 bankruptcy filing. Unless he can qualify for some other special program, the former treasurer must spend a year in jail.
