INTRODUCTION
A variety of minerals that are found in the vuggy "Buckwheat dolomite" at Franklin, Sussex County, New Jersey, have been described in detail by Peters et al. (1983). The dolomite is found on the dump which holds material excavated from the Buckwheat open pit located at the southern end of the Franklin ore deposit. Over the years 41 species have been reported from this occurrence. Peters et al. (1983) report 22 validated species from the dump, most of which occur as microcrystals in the 10's to 100's of [[micro]meter]. A few, such as fluorite and sphalerite, range up to 5 mm in crystal size.
