Many of us wonder what it would be like to have our home transformed by an interior designer. A visit to the Yorkshire abode of interior designer Carolyn Parker shows just what you might get for your money.

Carolyn, 55, is married to a farmer, Gordon, also 55. Together, they have turned a former stable block and stockyard on his farm in Ingmanthorpe, near Wetherby, into a spectacular six-bedroom, four-bathroom house (for sale for [pounds sterling]1.55 million through Savills, Harrogate, 01423 535800).
