WASHINGTON - Divided between their roles as employers and as funders of workers' compensation risks, insurers are hoping that upcoming Labor Department rules on repetitive motion injuries will be reasonable and clearly defined, an association executive says.
Nancy Schroeder, director of workers' compensation for the Des Plaines, Ill.-based National Association of Independent Insurers, said insurers have concerns over repetitive stress regulations on levels.
As employers, they worry about rules that are overly broad and burdensome, she said. But as workers' comp. insurers, they favor loss control measures, she said.
