WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Hamilton Sundstrand, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation , and Proton Energy Systems have successfully qualified the next generation electrolysis cell stack for use in nuclear submarine oxygen generating systems.
The cell stacks enable the water electrolysis-based oxygen generation systems to split water into its hydrogen and oxygen elements. This advanced design will provide customers a high quality and reliable product at a low cost. The first production delivery is scheduled for June 2009.
