SAUSALITO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--January 7, 1997--Nokia Display Products, Inc., Europe's leading monitor manufacturer and Viratec Thin Films, Inc., world supplier of anti-reflection coatings for glass and plastic displays announce the introduction of Viratec's Optium 2020 clarity-enhancing coating on Nokia 17" and 21" Multigraph monitors.
Optium 2020 is an electrically conductive metal-oxide coating which is vacuum deposited directly onto the face of the CRT prior to final monitor assembly. This high performance treatment reduces reflection on a computer monitor from 4.5% to less than 0.3% -- making it 15 times less reflective than an untreated display.
