FORT HOOD, Texas - The Army's AH-64 Apache Longbow attack helicopter is ready - months ahead of schedule - to show its digital systems at a huge field exercise next spring, service officials here said Tuesday.
Two prototype Apache Longbow helicopters "have been ready since August to operate on a digital battlefield," Lt. Col. Doug Eller, commander of two Longbow Apache prototypes attached to the 1st Battalion, 4th Aviation Regiment (Attack), told Defense Daily yesterday.
