SURGEONS were today expected to report on the progress of their attempts to separate conjoined twins.
Faith and Hope Williams were delivered by Caesarean section at London's University College last Wednesday and taken to Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.
Doctors had hoped to wait until they were older and stronger to operate but decided that their shared circulatory system and two separate hearts could make it risky.
An operation to separate them started last night and was expected to continue for many hours.
The hospital is expected to make a statement later today on the outcome.
