Article: A versatile numerical method and software package for E-plane filter design.

A design theory is described for all kinds of E-plane waveguide filter circuits, and a general matrix equation is presented. Both higher order-mode interaction and finite thickness of the inserts are considered. EFLTR, a commercial software package, is developed for filter designs. Various E-plane circuits are analyzed and two metal insert E-plane filters are designed using this package. The results show good agreement with published or experimental results.
