Eighty year old Miles Tipton was a high school and YMCA swim coach for many years. After retirement, he began competitive swimming and track and field in the Massachusetts Senior Games in 1991. In 1997, after completing treatment for stage four throat cancer, he won four gold medals and two silver medals.
