HOUSTON, Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Garden Ridge Corporation (Nasdaq: GRDG) today announced November and December sales improvement.
Net sales in November and December 1996, which consist of the first nine weeks of the fiscal 1997 fourth quarter, increased 50% over November and December 1995. Sales at comparable stores increased 1% over the same period of the previous year.
Armand Shapiro, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, stated: "We are pleased to have achieved improvement in our sales trends since the third quarter and we believe given the current sales trends comparable store sales will be positive for the fourth quarter."
