A Japanese politician recently blamed President Franklin D. Roosevelt for causing the attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. His idea was that FDR had somehow lured the Japanese fleet into launching the assault. For our younger readers, this coming Sunday marks the 67th anniversary of the most catastrophic event in U.S. military history - the Japanese sneak attack on our Pearl Harbor naval base that killed more than 2,000 Americans, sank three of our most powerful battleships and badly damaged four others, along with three light cruisers, three destroyers and four auxiliary vessels.
